T'AI CH'I & CH'I GONG
MOVEMENT AT THE HEART OF BEING
T'ai Ch'i is purely and simply a way of expressing one's energy - that energy is the natural vital force that flows through you.
What happens when energy moves around the body is it gets blocked in places, because it is not allowed to flow in a continual pattern. These energetic blockages can manifest as physical tension and pain, as mental disharmony and emotional imbalance as well as impairing energetic function, all of which can lead to ill health.
T'ai Ch'i through a pattern of movements allows the energy pattern to re-establish, re-balancing the flow of natural vital force both within the body and within the relationship of the self to the world.
The traditional T'ai Ch'i long form (yang style) consists of 108 moves. This full set of movements in time activate and release every single meridian, creating energetic balance.
HEALTH
Ta'i Ch'i is suitable for all ages and can help to improve posture, balance, breathing, mobility and overall health.
You will be sent a health questionnaire to complete and submit with your enrolment form. If you have particular concerns and wish to discuss them prior to enrolling please do not hesitate to contact me.
CLOTHING
It is advisable to wear loose fitting, comfortable clothes. Training is on a wooden floor, footwear is advisable - soft shoes or trainers are appropriate.
TUITION
Each session lasts for 90 minutes.
Beams Gallery, Fisherton Mill and Fitness by Design Studio: classes are run for 6 people at a time to ensure in-depth teaching and personal attention.
The Heart of Being Studio, Fisherton Mill: classes are run for 4 people in my studio which can be found at the far end of the first floor at the Mill.
One-to-one and one-to-two tuition is also available in my studio by arrangement.
COURSES
Courses run throughout the year in blocks of usually 6 weeks, with breaks at school half terms and Easter, Christmas, etc.
Once you have a place in a class you can continue on that day and time throughout the year, simply rebooking in blocks of 6 weeks.
If you wish to join a class which is currently full, your name can be added to the waiting list and you will be offered a place as soon as one becomes available.
New additional classes start up periodically according to interest, so if you would really like to come and learn T'ai Ch'i but classes are full or not running at a time that suits you, then don't be disheartened ! - just give me a call on 01722 414777 or e mail: move@theheartofbeing.co.uk and find out when a new class is starting that does work for you.
FEES
Classes cost £10.00 per 90 minute session, so a six week course costs £60.00.
Fees for each course are payable in advance. Please make cheques payable to Annie Armit. Regrettably no refunds are available for non-attendance once signed up for a course.

PRIVATE TUITION
If your prefer, you can come and learn T'ai Ch'i and Ch'i Gong on a one-to-one or one-to-two basis.Classes are held in my studio in the day time by arrangement.
Fees are £35.00 for one-to-one tuition, or £20.00 per person for one-to-two tuition.
